In this workshop, we will walk you through potential reasons and fixes on Shopify vs. Google Analytics data mismatch.
Most Shopify merchants have the same problem now. The Google Analytics data (especially revenue & purchases) don't match with Shopify data. There are too many potential reasons for this.
Here is a quick summary of the core problems that we observed. In our workshop, we have deep-dived into each issue and provided solutions and best practices.
Consent-related: Especially in Europe, most stores use some apps to make their stores compatible with GDPR. It is acceptable not to be able to track the users that don't provide consent. However, we have also realized many times the merchants make mistakes in their settings of the GDPR apps.
Ad-Blocker Usage: More than 20% of visitors use ad blockers, probably including you :). Unfortunately, the adblockers also block tracking scripts. Server-side tracking is a good solution to this.
Checkout & Upsell Apps: These apps have a different checkout flow and they don't follow the regular checkout process. Most tracking scripts are triggered on the regular thank you page on Shopify. If your checkout process is not a regular one, you should consider contact the app supports and learn how you can have accurate tracking.
